Job Summary
The Medical Simulations Training Analyst supports the standardization of medical simulation capabilities for training and reviews medical sustainment training course material to determine best medical training simulation solution. They provide medical simulations training analysis and technical expertise to assist in the planning, development, coordination, implementation, execution, and management of Army Medical Simulation training plans, products, policy and strategy. They serve as a project leader and complete tasks necessary to develop, revise, and maintain required training development documentation and policy services in support of the U.S. Army Medical Center of Excellence (MEDCoE) Directorate of Simulation (DoS) located at Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA) Ft. Sam Houston, TX.
Minimum Qualifications
- 4+ years’ experience in the medical simulations field. Specifically, experience in one or more of the following areas:
o Operational MedSim Training Analysis
o Training Operations and Execution Analysis
o Training Modernization Analysis
o Training Capability Integration
o Training Capability Development
o Simulation Training Technology
- Program and/or Project Management experience
- Experience determining TADSS requirements and integrating all medical simulation capabilities in support of training ICTLs, MSTCs, and provider sustainment medical training
- Experience with Military medical training processes and Medical Modeling and Simulation (MMS) programs such as the Medical Simulation Training Center (MSTC), Central Simulation Committee (CSC), and the Synthetic Training Environment (STE)
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant academic discipline. (Associates degree and 4 years’ experience may be substituted for Bachelor’s degree. Alternatively, 8 years’ experience may be substituted for Bachelor’s degree.)
- Ability to pass and maintain a Tier 1 (T1) Investigation (Federal background check). A current adjudicated T1 or higher investigation or Security clearance is preferred.
- Medical simulations training concepts, practices, and procedures
- Understanding of the Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS)
- Understanding of DOTMLPF-P and how it affects Army Medicine.
- Ability to apply DOTMLPF-P analysis to simulation training capabilities and solutions to ensure training for the future force remains realistic, rigorous, and relevant
- Ability to monitor training accurately and effectively in order to determine the training effectiveness and provide Commanders with an assessment of their casualty response plan
- Ability to apply analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to training issues
- Ability to development and implement modernization directives, policies, guidelines and procedures sufficient to assure training program accomplishment
- Knowledge of major issues, program goals and objectives, work processes and administrative operations that support operational medicine training
- Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, policies, and precedents which impact the Army’s medical force
- In-depth, knowledge of US Army operations, doctrine and regulations to identify and define requirements
- Ability to conduct analytical studies of operations and procedures to determine effectiveness and recommend updates to policy and procedures
- Ability to monitor training accurately and effectively in order to determine the training effectiveness and provide Commanders with an assessment of their casualty response plan
- Ability to conduct research and analyze MedSim training to recommend modernization requirements and improvements
- Understanding of U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) regulations and the Analysis, Development, Design, Implementation, and Evaluation (ADDIE) process
- High level of initiative and judgment
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Read, write, and speak English fluently
- Possess excellent written and oral communication skills
