  • High School education or equivalent;
  • Ability to read, write and converse in the English language; and adequate physical ability, including sufficient manual dexterity to perform the requisite health care services.

Experience:

  • Approximately six months on the job training to become proficient in all the position’s duties and responsibilities.
  • Preference will be given to those having inpatient behavioral health experience.

License & Certifications:

  • WA AACR required within 6 months of hire
  • Must maintain current BCLS certification

Perform selected patient care activities under the general supervision of the Registered Nurse.

  • Frequently performs/provides patient care duties and assists patients with general hygiene as delegated by the RN
  • Continuously interacts with patients/significant others as a member of the interdisciplinary team
  • Frequently provides support for the patient's therapeutic treatment plan.
  • Completes progress notes on assigned patients per program and hospital policy.
  • Frequently observes and records patient information pertinent to treatment plan and reports this information to the RN
  • Performs other related work as required.

  • Interact effectively with other people.
  • Ability to complete tasks as assigned in a timely manner.
  • Ability to take direction from the RN/LPN/Medical Staff and seek assistance appropriately.
  • Knowledgeable regarding body mechanics and lifting techniques.
  • Knowledgeable of restraint and seclusion regulations and procedures and role in same.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of the job by seeking guidance and direction as necessary for optimum performance of daily assigned tasks.
  • Knowledgeable of urine specimen collection procedures.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills.
  • Demonstrate the ability to set priorities and optimally use work time
  • Ability to perform under high volumes of stress.
