DEFINITION : Under occasional supervision position is responsible for reading, checking, installing and repairing water meters on designated routes. Position requires at least 40 hours per week and may require working a rotating schedule. Position is subject to emergency "on-call" duty.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Not all-inclusive) : Read designated meter routes. Performs basic maintenance of meters and meter boxes. Conducts lawn and grounds maintenance tasks. Complete service orders by checking for high/low reads and possible leaks and notifies customer when necessary; installs and changes out meters and turn service on and off to customers. Cleans and maintains buildings and related equipment such as changing air filters and caring for ornamental plants, trees and landscaping. Keeps inventory of parts and orders as necessary. Operates hand held meter reading devices.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : Requires High School graduation or GED equivalent. Experience in water distribution system maintenance and repair work preferred.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS : Requires a driver's license valid in the State of Florida.
