Team DOCR is looking for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide health care services to DOCR residents in Bismarck and Mandan, ND. Summary of Work


A midlevel provider will perform physical examinations, compile medical data to include health history and examination results of adults and adolescents, and order diagnostic tests and interpret the results. In addition, you will initiate medical treatment, provide treatment follow-up, provide preventive health care and health maintenance, and instruct and counsel patients about prescribed therapeutic regimens.

The successful candidate will participate actively in quality improvement programs and initiatives, initiate and treat MOUD with buprenorphine and naltrexone-based regimens, and monitor individuals arriving on methadone-based therapy.

This provider will deliver health care services to adult and juvenile male and female residents in DOCR facilities in Bismarck and Mandan, to include the North Dakota State Penitentiary, Missouri River Correctional Center, Youth Correctional Center, and the Heart River Correctional Center.

Minimum Qualifications


Current active NP/PA certification and eligible for unrestricted licensure in ND is required. Individual must have active license to practice prior to beginning employment and at least two years primary care or similar experience.

Preferred Qualifications
Five years primary care experience and experience in women’s healthcare and adolescent health care. Must be comfortable with prescribing buprenorphine-based medications in treatment of MOUD and treating Hepatitis C from a primary care perspective.

Must successfully complete a standard background and criminal history record check.
