Detailed Description:

As a member of our team, you will use your experience and education to prepare infrastructure plans and evaluate project feasibility. In this role, you will work closely with our technical experts, local leaders, and client service managers to advance our technical services and support business development on a wide variety of projects for primarily public sector clients. Typical projects could involve:

  • Creating master plans for municipal water and wastewater utilities
  • Updating or creating and executing a variety of hydraulic models and evaluating model results for planning and design projects
  • Preparing feasibility studies, alternatives analyses, and conceptual design development for water and sewer infrastructure improvement projects
  • Assisting with water supply studies and alternatives analysis

You will have the opportunity to quickly take on more advanced roles and responsibilities as you develop your internal network and expand your abilities.

Job Expectations:

  • Develop water and sewer modeling and planning skills and experience
  • Perform hydraulic modeling and analysis of water distribution and collection systems
  • Prepare comprehensive technical reports and presentations
  • Analyze and manipulate data using spreadsheets, GIS, and other software tools
  • Travel occasionally to project sites for data collection and client meetings
  • Prepare figures and maps for reports and presentations
  • Write letters and otherwise communicate with clients and the public
  • Prepare budget level project cost estimates
  • Coordinate, manage, and execute complex assignments to achieve client goals within scope, schedule, and budget constraints
  • Participate in improving company resources and tools to improve quality and efficiency
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering; Master’s degree preferred
  • PE license or ability to obtain PE within 2 years
  • Working knowledge of water and sewer infrastructure hydraulics and operation
  • Ability to work as a member of a team
  • 0 to 5 years of directly-related experience in water and wastewater hydraulic modeling and planning, with progressively increasing responsibility
  • Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to prepare effective written documents
  • Proficiency with advanced modeling, data management, and related software packages a plus (e.g., InfoWater, WaterGEMS, EPA SWMM, MIKE URBAN, InfoWorks ICM, HEC-RAS, HSPF, ArcGIS, Excel, Power BI)
  • Organizational and analytical skills with high attention to detail

Salary Range: The anticipated starting pay range for this position is based on the employee’s primary work location and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Location A: $55,000 - $75,000
