June Shelton School & Evaluation Center enjoys the distinction of being the world’s largest independent school for bright children with learning differences. Founded in 1976, Shelton is dedicated to making a difference by serving and empowering the lives of students who learn differently. While the school is clearly the centerpiece of its mission, Shelton is more than a school. It encompasses three other major components, all open to the community—a speech and language therapy program, an evaluation center, and a teacher-training program. Shelton is actively involved with research and collaborates with major medical institutions in the Dallas area, including Children’s Medical Center and UT Southwestern Medical Center. The Shelton School is a co-educational, non-sectarian school that serves approximately 900 students with learning differences in grades EC to 12. The Shelton School is accredited by Independent Schools Association of the Southwest (ISAS).
Position Overview:
Assist the program director in all aspects of managing trainings and professional development sessions for the Shelton Montessori Training (SMT). Some some Saturdays required.

Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Recognized Early Childhood Montessori credential
- Minimum of three years of experience in an Early Childhood Montessori classroom after receiving the Montessori credential
- Experience in teaching adults, educational administration, and curriculum development
- Current AMS membership
- Competence with Microsoft Office and G-Suites
- Ability to navigate and utilize Canvas for course and student account management
- Strong leadership ability and teamwork ethic
- Ability to maintain emotional control under stress
- Demonstrate flexibility in all aspects of work duties and takes initiative
- Proficient oral and written communication skills
- Willingness toward continuous improvement
- Familiarity with Adobe InDesign Experience to maintain and update the Master Handbook
Essential Functions:
- Maintains good attendance. Because of the daily interaction with students and colleagues, attendance and punctuality are essential to the successful performance of this job.
- Supervise the curriculum, faculty, and administrative tasks for the Shelton Montessori Training.
- Support and lead in the collaboration and development of training content, design, and delivery.
- Review all level course materials and collaborate with the Program Director (PD) to coordinate and implement proposed changes/additions.
- Collaborate with the PD to maintain and align AMS/MACTE requirements and competencies for the level where appropriate.
- Create new courses on the Canvas for each cohort year and maintain updates to Canvas courses for the level with input from the PD and faculty.
- Record, edit, and publish training videos
- Organize and attend meetings including scheduling and sending reminders
- Collaborate with the PD to schedule course delivery, recruitment/training of instructors, maintenance of faculty and student files, and other duties as they arise.
- Support adult learners and faculty, and set them up for success.
Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the SMT Director.
