Job description
-
Operates a garbage truck; supervises inmates in the removal of trash from parks.

Mows grass; operates weed-eater, edger, and lawn tractor.

Operates dump truck.
-
Operates front-end loader; loads and unloads material from trucks.
-
Operates a chain saw in the removal of trees, limbs, and brush.
-
Supervises the work of inmate laborers; transports inmates to and from corrections facility.
-
Inspects vehicles and equipment; performs general maintenance duties; maintains inventory of supplies and tools; washes vehicles.

Completes required reports of daily activities.
-
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge of the methods and techniques used in park maintenance activities.

Knowledge of the techniques used in the maintenance of assigned equipment.

Skill in the operation of various types of heavy and light construction equipment.

Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of specialized training in the occupational field, in addition to basic skills typically associated with a high school education; two years of progressively responsible related experience; or any combination of education, training and experience which provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job. Employee must pass the Department of Corrections three-day certification within the time frame required by this department, which is normally six months but may be altered. Must possess a valid Commercial Driver's License.

Reaching – extending hands or arms in any direction.

Repetitive Motion – substantial movements of wrists, hands, fingers.
