Hexagon’s Manufacturing Intelligence, division is seeking a Nastran Structural Dynamics Developer.
Description:
The Nastran Structural Dynamics Developer will design and implement advanced dynamic analysis capabilities in MSC Nastran. Engage with customers at technical level to document use cases and translate them into high-level software specification. Author design documents, perform coding to implement designs, test developed capabilities and assist in correcting any deficiencies. Manage and lead project from inception through delivery. Candidate will be expected to eventually take on the role of dynamics technical domain expert at the company.

Candidate will be expected to eventually take on the role of dynamics technical domain expert at the company.
Responsibilities:
- Perform design, implementation, system integration, documentation, and unit/system testing of Nastran’s dynamic analysis solutions
- Support legacy dynamic analysis in Nastran
- Project and technical management
- Serve as the dynamic analysis technical domain expert for Design & Engineering product portfolio.
- Author project and user documentation.
- Assist Product Management, Marketing and Field Teams in promoting MSC Nastran Dynamic Analysis product portfolio.
- Work with APEX and Patran teams to advance Nastran Pre- and Post- support.
- Correct defects in Nastran
- Ensure all deliverables meet established Product Quality Metrics and Guidelines.
- Assist QA and Project Testing teams with benchmarking and certification to ensure a successful and timely product release.
- Provide second-line support to MSC application/support engineers.
- May be asked to assist technical marketing and business development teams.
Qualifications:
- Advanced Graduate degree in Aerospace, Structural, Civil or Mechanical Engineering with emphasis in computational dynamic analysis of structures.
- Minimum 3 years overall experience in modeling and simulation analysis in structural dynamics analysis
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in COTS scientific software development
- Minimum 3 years’ programming experience in C/C++/Fortran and Python

- Technical leadership in dynamic simulation methods development
- Strong theoretical knowledge of linear dynamics methods
- Strong experience in structural dynamic analysis in frequency and transient response analysis
- Sound knowledge of Linear Algebra and its application in structural dynamic analysis.
- Experience in advanced topics like aeroelasticity, rotordynamics, vibroacoustics or multibody dynamics preferred
- Experience using DMAP in Nastran
- General knowledge of Nastran, ADAMS, Ansys, Abaqus and/or Patran.
- Industry experience in developing dynamic simulation tools
