JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Development Coordinator contributes to the successful execution of fundraising programs for affiliate organizations within the UVM Health Network (UVMHN) by providing high-level programmatic and administrative support to the centralized Network philanthropy team based in Burlington and the Directors of Development (DODs) at Central Vermont Medical Center, UVM Home Health and Hospice, Porter Medical Center, Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital, Elizabethtown Community Hospital, and Alice Hyde Community Hospital. The Development Coordinator focuses particularly on projects related to the successful cultivation and securing of philanthropic funding for UVMHN. Primary duties include administrative support for the centralized team which includes the UVMHN Network Director of Philanthropy, Senior Planned Giving Officer and Prospect Management and Research Specialist and support for the DODs at the direction of the Network Director. Currently this position is expected to prioritize up to 60% of its time supporting the DOD at Central Vermont Medical Center in particular. Activities include calendar management, meeting coordination, travel planning, documentation of prospect contact, report generation, and data maintenance. Duties also include the drafting and production of a wide variety of written materials including detailed biographical and business briefings, correspondence, proposals, and stewardship reports; the coordination and execution of key donor and prospect events across affiliates; the support of the development of prospect strategies, prospect research and campaign planning; and prospect management. The Development Coordinator interacts with volunteers and donors at the request of the DODs and develops strong relationships with staff, serving as a key resource on questions relating to development programming, donor stewardship and information systems.

EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s Degree with three to five years of related professional experience required, preferably within an academic, health care, non-profit or customer relations environment OR any equivalent combinations of education and/or experience from which substantial success and productivity have been achieved.

EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 2 years’ experience with a relational database; Raiser's Edge/Blackbaud experience strongly preferred. Prior experience in healthcare philanthropy in large complex organizations preferred. Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
