SCOPE OF POSITION:
Construction Specialties is looking for a highly motivated Network Engineer to join the team. The Network Engineer will be part of the Network team that is responsible for managing Construction Specialties rapidly growing global network. The candidate will have hands-on access to all network devices across the enterprise and will work closely with engineering groups within the IT organization to provide advanced network engineering and consultation in the design, development and implementation of network services.

  • Assist the team on managing all Routers, Switches, Firewalls, IP Telephony, WAPs, and Network Management Solutions across the enterprise (LAN/WAN)
  • Maintains detailed knowledge of company network standards and the overall regional and global network environments
  • Responsible for maintaining Construction Specialties network monitoring solution to track performance and uptime
  • Completes existing project task lists to ensure execution of tasks
  • Performs ongoing network maintenance, upgrades and enhancements to optimize network performance, availability, stability and security
  • Working under the general guidance of the network manager, provides technical expertise to support the implementation and modernization of network systems as well as the applications they support
  • Conducts analysis of network characteristics, troubleshoots problems and recommends procurement, removals, and modifications to components across the global network topology
  • Document changes and procedures, including all network diagrams

QUALIFICATIONS
**
KNOWLEDGE/ SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE/ EDUCATION*: * (Minimum Education and/or Experience required)

  • Certifications Preferred (ie: CCNA, Network +, NSE)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or a related field is strongly preferred
  • 3-5 years relevant experience as a Network Engineer working in an Enterprise environment
  • Strong knowledge and configuration experience of Cisco/Meraki routing, switching, and wireless technologies including BGP, MPLS, EIGRP, OSPF, Qos, 802.1x and Radius
  • Knowledge of firewalls, preferably Fortinet, Meraki, and Cisco (policy- based routing, site-to-site VPN) highly preferred
  • Experience with Cisco IP Telephony (Call Manager 7.X and up) desired
  • Working experience with management protocols and network performance monitoring tools such as Solarwinds, syslog, SNMP, netflow, and MRTG
  • Superior problem-solving and analytical skills; proven ability to work effectively with other team members to handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously in a deadline driven environment
  • Experience generating internal facing documentation and diagrams with the ability to effectively communicate such work
  • Excellent and thorough understanding of network architecture and design concepts (LAN/WAN)
  • Ability to work flexible hours and support night or weekend work as needed
