To process NSF and Overdraft items via the automated system. Process all incoming and outgoing collection items. Research, resolve problems and respond to customers’ inquiries on account status.
RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. ACCOUNT PROCESSING:
a. Process specific consumer and commercial items and charge accounts via the automated system
b. Generate notices and mail to customer on a daily basis.
c. Process incoming and outgoing collection items and forged endorsement requests.
d. Balance back to return item cash letters.
e. Research and process accounts requested closed by Loan Officer due to NSF status.
f. Process outgoing and large return notifications.
g. Process research requested regarding returns and collections.
h. Analyze NSF accounts, mark decisions on NSF report for Loan Officers review.
i. Research and process collected funds from Credit Management and customers.
2. ACCOUNT MAINTENANCE:
a. Maintain accurate records and controls, special handling file and system updates.
b. Update Early Warning and Credit Management websites on closed NSF DDA and SAV accounts.
c. Investigate accounts history for Loan Officers upon request.
d. Monitor suspicious transactions on accounts and notify loan officers of findings for final approval to close accounts.
e. Maintain files on all closed and collected NSF accounts.
3. MISCELLANEOUS OTHER:
a. Approved Lending Limit of $2,000.00.
b. Confer with irate customers, counsel walk-in customers and customers by phone with NSF account problems.
c. Initiate change to forms and letters when needed to be more consumer friendly.
d. Generate Bounce Letters to mail out to customers.
e. Assume other duties and responsibilities as requested.
f. Supervise and train individual for backup.
g. Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS: Minimum Qualifications:
1. Post high school education and/or five years financial industry work experience preferred. Previous sales experience helpful.
2. Math proficiency and aptitude.
3. General areas of competency: decision making, dependability, development, environmental safety, evaluation skills, interpersonal skills, prioritizing, problem solving, selling skills, team skills and time management.
4. Demonstrated record of achievement in social and/or extracurricular and leadership skills.
5. Demonstrated aptitude to handle sensitive operational transactions and customer relationships
6. Professional appearance.
7. Demonstrated interpersonal skills.
8. Effective oral and written communication skills (including telephone).
9. Self-sufficient/self-starting.
10. Ability to adjust to flexible hours.
11. Strong interest in and ability to sell products and services.
12. CRT/PC experience helpful. Proficient in Word and Excel.
13. Deposit Platform experience helpful.
14. Must be capable of working with and maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive information.
Physical Requirements:
Light Work - exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Reaching, fingering, grasping, repetitive motions, stooping, crouching, standing, walking, lifting, climbing, kneeling, talking, hearing, pulling, pushing, thinking, concentrating and interacting with others.
