  • Assists with communicable disease prevention and control measures that includes monitoring immunization compliance, screening, testing and contact tracing as directed by Health Services
  • Perform state mandated screenings as a Department State Health Services (DSHS) screener for vision, hearing and type 2 diabetes in children as directed by the nurse
  • Record and maintain accurate student health information in student electronic health record
  • Provides basic first aid and emergency care according to district policy and department guidelines and procedures.
  • Administer prescribed medications and perform special procedures for students in accordance district policy and department guidelines and procedures
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
  • Inform Health Services of requests for health counseling and health education while maintaining confidentiality

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is required
  • Certified Nurse Aide/Assistant is preferred
  • Texas Department of Health certification for vision, hearing, spinal screening is required to be successfully completed within the first year of employment
  • Current American Red Cross certification in First/Aid or USA equivalency (DPS Standard First Aid Class) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation/AED yearly recertification is required
  • Previous experience as a Nurse Assistant is preferred
  • Demonstrated basic typing, computer and data entry skills as required to meet the goals of the position
  • Must provide own transportation

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: From $26,000.00 per year
