The RN Residency Program includes a basic orientation to patient care management in an acute care facility. The program is based on the premise that the new RN has a need for guidance, supervision and encouragement in their transition from student to practitioner. The new RN gains competence in clinical techniques and develops leadership and management skills under the auspices of a Registered Nurse Preceptor. Evaluations and feedback by the experienced preceptor are essential components in assisting in the new RN to identify learning needs. The RN Residency program will assist in identifying individual learning needs, provide opportunities to develop new or specialty competencies and promote self-esteem and confidence in their ability to adjust to the RN role.

Qualifications:
- Current Florida RN license (may apply without license, but must have license prior to the start of the program) or Graduate Nurse Letter from the Board of Nursing
- Current BLS from the American Heart Association
