Nutrition Services Aides and Host/Hostess provides patients, visitors, and co-workers and nursing staff with outstanding customer service to maximize meal satisfaction and their individual experiences.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Nutrition Services Aide
- Visiting and assisting patients with menu selections and getting food ready. Providing brief simplified information on diet restrictions on assigned units.
- Deliver food trays within established time frames and at appropriate temperature. Collect any dirty trays from pantries, ensuring with nurse to make sure that I & O’s were completed.
- Transports meal trays in food truck to specified patient area and distributes trays to patient, checking two patient identifiers (name and date of birth).
- Performs all dish room responsibilities including loading, unloading and putting away all clean items in the appropriate space and assorted kitchen duties as assigned.
- Must maintain a pleasant and courteous disposition at all times while working at a rapid pace focusing on the patient and the task at hand while staying within the time constraints.
- Shares information & collaborates with fellow team members.
Host/Hostess
- Communicates effectively and clearly with patients and patient care team. Identify food preferences from patient to food service department to with meal service.
- Answers patient calls in a prompt, courteous manner, and processes requests in accordance with patient’s nutritional care order.
- Performs minor food preparation and portioning, comprehensive understanding and proficiency of Vision-Meals Your Way computerized ordering system and ability to utilize EPIC.
- Transports patient trays.

SHIFT DETAILS:
Full time, 40 hours per week
Part time, less than 40 hours per week
Per Diem, as needed, as scheduled

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
Nutrition Services Aides: High school graduate or equivalent. Customer service experience preferred.
Host/Hostess: High School graduate or equivalent preferred. Must be able to communicate effectively in English.
PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:
Walking for up to 7 hours per day, 3 hours at a time. Continuously uses hands, upper and lower back and legs, handling, twisting/turning. Examples would be carrying trays, pulling and pushing trucks and carts, etc. Frequently uses firm grasping. Uses upper extremities for continuously lifting (up to 50 lbs.) carrying (up to 50 lbs.) and frequently push and pull (1 to 150 lbs.). When performing essential functions, employee must have the ability to frequently stoop/bend and occasionally squat. Employee must have the ability to hear normal conversation, have general vision, far vision, and peripheral vision.
