PURPOSE: This position is primarily responsible for supporting overall logistics and operations for the dock area, warehouse, and laundry room. These duties include but are not limited to receiving and sorting donations, stocking them in an orderly fashion, ensuring laundry is done for shelter clients, driving a box truck or van for the donation collection route as needed, and supervision and support to volunteers and vocational workers who work in the dock area. This position requires the ability to perform heavy lifting up to 75 lbs. and a valid driver’s license.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Operate the laundry room in the facility which is responsible for managing washing of linen. Associate is responsible for organizing the process to ensure linen get washed, folded, and shelves restocked each day.
  • Driving company vehicle around the Omaha metropolitan area to collect various donations.
  • Support the dock by ensuring each donor is greeted with professionalism and customer service.
  • Sort, stock and distribute material donations and supplies.
  • Work with community volunteers and clients in our work training program by providing supervision of their work, training, and direction.
  • Dock requires the ability to loads and unloads goods which, at times may weigh up to 75 pounds per parcel, out of and into vehicles.
  • Provides excellent customer services to clients, volunteers, vendors, and employees.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

  • High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Valid Nebraska driver’s license required.
  • Defensive driving skills.
  • Superior customer service skills.
  • Positive and energetic attitude.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, organized.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to relate to, work and communicate with diverse individuals.
  • Must be able to push, pull, lift, and carry 75 pounds.
  • Great attendance.
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The work environment is a warehouse setting with varying degrees of temperatures and noise levels, laundry room and kitchen facility.
