We accomplish this through training, advocacy, building and supporting community-based programs and partnerships, evaluation, quantitative and community-based research, and outreach. Given the diversity of the communities we serve, it is essential we approach our work with a focus on equity and an attitude of cultural humility.
We are currently looking for a dedicated, knowledgeable, inquiring, and compassionate individual to help us manage a diverse consultant team working to disseminate harm reduction through formal training to organizations statewide, community events, and direct street outreach to people who use drugs.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist Project Director in managing expert consultant training team with statewide dissemination of harm reduction training (Overdose Education and Naloxone Distribution (OEND), Overamping and Stimulant Harm Reduction, Fentanyl Test Strip, etc.) and provide technical assistance as needed
  • Organize and host quarterly consultant meetings to discuss new drug trends, harm reduction research, successes, barriers, and opportunities for collaboration
  • Assist Project Director and Overdose Prevention Coordinators with conducting outreach to statewide organizations to inform them of harm reduction efforts and encourage collaboration and training
  • Assist Project Director in OEND program expansion across the state in various settings (city/county jails, treatment and recovery settings, grass-root community organizations, faith-based organizations, etc.)
  • Organize and attend project and subgroup team meetings; serve as a point of contact for consultant team
  • Assist with the development of training curriculum and social media content to feature harm reduction and naloxone distribution efforts
  • Conduct local and statewide travel as-needed (approximately 1-2x/month) to visit state-funded mental and physical health treatment and recovery facilities, city/county jails, and community partners/stakeholders
  • Other duties as assigned
Remote Work/Physical Requirements: This will be a hybrid work position with days that consist of in-office, community, and remote work.
