We are YSS:

YSS Residential Addiction Treatment provides a successful, individualized, and evidence-based recovery program for youth (ages 12-18) in a safe, homelike atmosphere. We understand substance abuse affects more than just the addict, our comprehensive approach incorporates support for the youth’s family and others in their support network.

The role:

As an Overnight Residential Youth Support, you will support the overnight staff in the supervision and care of residential clients during the night and morning hours. You will remain awake at all times throughout the entire shift to ensure the security of the building.

What you will need:

• A High School Diploma/equivalent is required
• One year of related work or life experience is required
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be authorized to drive YSS vehicles.

What you will do:

• Float as scheduled among the Shelter & Residential Treatment programs to provide support to overnight staff and ensure the security of the facilities.
• Walk from facility to facility every 15-20 minutes to complete facility checks and staff check-ins.
• Complete sweep of the interior at each facility, ensuring the doors and windows are locked, and record timestamps at each location during each visit.
• Assist in the supervision of the residents during the late night and early morning. Relates to residents in a caring, supportive, and therapeutic manner.
• Take an active interest in each resident and be aware of individuals presenting problems, behaviors, and personalities.
• Enforce program rules and restrictions consistently, fairly, and firmly.
• Report any non-authorized absences/elopements during the night in accordance with program policy and procedure.
• Assist in providing crisis intervention when needed and alerts on-call staff of a medical or counseling emergency.
• Complete paperwork, report, and any required documentation.
• Assist in providing for the nightly maintenance of the house and assuring that safe living conditions are provided in compliance with fire, safety, and health regulations.
• Complete daily checks of each facility’s vehicles and fuel them or request service when necessary.
• Attend required meetings and training.
• Other duties as assigned.

Compensation:

$14/hour
