Job Summary:
The person in this role is responsible for planning production jobs throughout the Company’s Lettershop and Print Operations. This position works closely with Scheduling, Client Services, Estimating, Product Engineering, Outsourcing and Production areas to ensure jobs are planned efficiently.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This role does not have direct reports.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Create and merge production estimates that meet scheduling needs and workflow optimization.
- Write job instructions.
- Generating Press layouts and envelope die lines.
- Timely completion of job processing and change orders.
- Work with Scheduling, Outsourcing, and Purchasing departments and ensure production information is forwarded to outsource vendors.
- Close collaboration with Estimating, Scheduling, Product Engineering and Production for determining workflow optimization, tooling orders, job instructions and alternative solutions based on equipment specifications.
- Maintain balance between customer design expectations and effective Company production methods.
- Provide or obtain all necessary approvals and production estimates for each product.
- Track and supply Client Services, Prepress, and Production areas with work instructions that are compliant to schedules.
- Provide technical support to all internal departments concerning IWCO equipment specifications, capabilities, and specific product specifications.
- Regularly attend creative and pre-planning meetings to provide production specification and workflow optimization for jobs and creative builds.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities/Competencies:
- Process-oriented with strong troubleshooting, organization, and numerical/analytical skills.

- Ability to prioritize and multitask projects and daily duties effectively.
- Ability to readily adapt to changes in workload and additional time commitments.
- Strong proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel and Visio.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree with concentration in Graphic Arts or equivalent experience in printing, converting and /or mailing industries.
- 3-5 years of related experience in a Job Planner, Scheduling or Estimating role is highly preferred.
- Experience and proficiency in Monarch and/or other ePS/EFI software is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work 8 hours.
- Regular, predictable attendance is required.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Pre-employment drug test and background check required.
