POSITION OBJECTIVE:

The Paralegal reports to the Director of Law or his/her designee, supporting the attorneys in all phases of their legal responsibilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Prepares updates and maintains all litigation files, maintaining same in the strictest confidence.

2. Completes all research assignments, under direction from an attorney, in a timely manner, through the effective use of all law library resources including Lexis and Westlaw.

3. Keeps current on pending legislation and advises of potential impact on the Authority and its’ operations.

4. Responsible for the administration of all court filings.

5. Prepares summary reports and memoranda of legal and policy issues.

6. Supervises the activities of assigned law clerks.

7. Performs related administrative and clerical duties as required, including, but not limited to, word processing, filing and telephone coverage.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s degree with working experience.
• ABA approved paralegal certificate.
• Minimum two years’ experience in litigation and contracts, preferably within a public agency or New Jersey Turnpike Authority Law Department.
• Excellent research skills, including extensive experience with Lexis and Westlaw.
• Excellent administrative and clerical skills.
• Must possess a valid NJ Driver’s License.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $73,000.00 per year
