KIPP Metro Atlanta Schools is part of the growing network of KIPP Public Schools. KIPP Public Schools is a national network of free, open enrollment, college-preparatory public schools dedicated to supporting all students to reach their highest aspirations. There are 270 KIPP schools across the nation serving more than 120,000students. Nationally, KIPP students have a 4X higher graduation rate than that of their peers.

KIPP Metro Atlanta currently operates eleven KIPP schools including four primary schools, five middle schools, one K-8 school, and one high school, as well as the KIPP Forward program which supports students through college, career, and beyond.

The Parent Liaison will serve students and families at KIPP Woodson Park Academy. This position will assist parents with understanding Title I Part A, ESEA, report cards, learning compacts, assessments, progress reports, Parent Rights & Responsibilities, school improvement and Flexible Learning Program.

As a KIPP Metro Atlanta, Parent Liasion your core responsibilities include:

• Coordinates volunteer program with continuous recruitment and training for volunteers.
• Develops and maintains a Parent Resource Center, library or corner within the school.
• Initiates and responds to parent phone calls, emails, and written correspondence.
• Helps families acclimate to the KIPP “Team and Family”; including coordinating home visits when appropriate.
• Assists in the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the school's Parent Involvement Budget, Policy and School Compact.
• Conducts professional learning sessions with staff to improve parent involvement.
• Facilitates community meetings.
• Other duties as assigned

• High School Diploma or GED required
  • Associate’s Degree preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working in an educational or social services environment
• Knowledge of Elementary and Secondary Education Act “ESEA”

Compensation:

Salary Range: $35,000-$50,000
