Job Summary:

At PPHS, our teachers are educational coaches. Students take an active role in their learning and coaches facilitate, encourage and provide opportunities and support. We are seeking part-time adjunct coaches to support student learning in Engineering and Maker Space / STEM education.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Provides coaching and support for student academic growth and achievement in the content area
  • Develop projects to deliver to students that result in the content area learning
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and community partners in a co-taught, interdisciplinary instructional setting
  • Collects and analyzes student data to support instructional decisions
  • Develop meaningful and supportive relationships with students
  • Maintain positive relationships with students, families, colleagues, & community partners
  • Engage students in academic conversations that elicit critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication
  • Provide appropriate accommodations, modifications, and interventions for English Learners, students with 504 Plans, and Special Education students
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned
Requirements:

Qualifications & Skills:

  • College degree or equivalent significant experience in the content area
  • Willingness to be mentored by an experienced, licensed teacher in the building
  • Ability to be recommended for the Adjunct Teaching Certification
  • Experience working with youth
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to collaborate and work well in a team
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment

Compensation: $3,125/project
