Position Overview:
The Town of Vail is seeking an attorney to serve as a contracted part-time prosecutor for our municipal court.
The key responsibilities for the Town of Vail Prosecutor include but are not limited to: Practice in representing Colorado municipalities in criminal prosecution of traffic and misdemeanor cases. Review cases and make appropriate offers to defense counsel or pro se defendants; Liaising with criminal justice and law enforcement agencies, victims and witnesses; motions hearings, court trials and jury trials.
The key skills and qualities sought: Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school; License to practice law in the State of Colorado; Valid Colorado driver’s license and general knowledge of the principals and practice of criminal law and rules of evidence; Strong written and oral communication skills.
The Town of Vail court dates are the first and third Thursday of every month.
