UW Medicine Montlake has an outstanding opportunity for Part-Time Patient Services Specialist 2 with our Alvord Brain Tumor Center!. The successful candidates are responsible for promoting efficient patient flow and assisting with administrative and patient centered tasks. As a PSS2, you will be the first face our patients see when entering our clinics. We are looking for candidates who have a positive attitude and contribute to providing the best possible patient care.

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
  • Demonstrates excellent customer service skills.


  • Responds to patients’ needs and concerns as appropriate.


  • Accepts patient payments (e.g., co-pays, deposits).


  • Coordinates and assists in scheduling ancillary appointments and consults


  • Using clinic guidelines, gathers information on the telephone regarding the nature of the patient concern. Triages calls to appropriate staff; obtains necessary information for the return call; initiates emergency procedure when necessary, uses appropriate documentation tools.


  • Orders, coordinates, and distributes medical records as needed.


  • Obtains necessary insurance plan information.


  • Maintains ongoing documentation and tracks authorized referrals.


  • Reviews the Epic Referral Queue daily for incoming orders and new patient referrals.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
    High School graduation or equivalent AND one year of healthcare, administrative, or customer service experience OR equivalent education/experience.
