PAVING EQUIPMENT SUPERINTENDENT
Manage paving mechanics to effectively maintain paving equipment and reduce unnecessary costs.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Practice and enforce all safety rules.
  • Understand the functions and intricacies of slipform paving equipment.
  • Coordinates and oversees all equipment repairs and maintenance,
  • Promotes safe use of all hand & power tools.
  • Report to and assist immediate supervisor.
  • Accountable for all mechanics, trucks, tools and parts.
  • Must be able to schedule and direct mechanics.
  • Must be able to prioritize needs.
  • Accountable for all work performed on paving equipment.
  • Able to work weekends / nights when needed.
  • Perform daily safety hazardous recognition.
  • Minimal computer skills are required but must be able to operate an IPAD for time and equipment input.
  • Continuous exposure and proximity to heavy equipment. FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Organization of schedule, parts purchasing, equipment needs, and management of mechanics associated with concrete paving operations.
  • Must have extensive knowledge of slipform paving equipment.
  • Must be knowledgeable in quality standards and effectively utilize all trade tools and equipment relevant to the work.
  • Ability to communicate in English via verbal and written communications.
  • Must be capable and proficient interacting with management.
  • Responds productively to change and performs all other related tasks as required and as directed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
  • Minimum Ten (10) years’ experience as a concrete paving superintendent or mechanic.
  • Must have valid drivers license.
  • Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation.
  • New Hire Orientation Quiz
  • Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of such individual or others in the workplace.
  • Follow and endorse all safety policies.
  • Safety equipment as required by Primoris (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Must comply with company’s drug and alcohol policy.
  • Must be able to pass physical examination, pre-employment if necessary, and as required by the company.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, including over uneven or soft surfaces.
  • Ability to perform manual laboring tasks under adverse weather conditions.
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work at elevated heights as well as in tight spaces.
  • Able to carry 50 lbs. of tool and/or materials. It is recommended to get assistance to lift items over 50 lbs.
  • Continuous use of both hands and feet with dexterity.
  • Must be able to work extended hours on your feet on uneven surfaces (dirt, concrete, asphalt, mud, gravel, etc.)
