Summary:

The Payroll and Benefit Specialist at Irwin Seating Company is responsible for performing all duties necessary to accomplish the company’s payroll and benefit processing. This role is responsible for processing bi-weekly payroll for ~150 employees in addition to managing the day-to-day operations of group benefits programs (medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, flexible spending plan, 401(k), etc.) for the entire division.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Wage and Salary Administration

  • Performs bi-weekly payroll (~150 EE’s) and any applicable supplemental payrolls as needed.
  • Enters, maintains, and processes payroll information including wage changes, deductions, court orders and garnishments.
  • Backup to the hourly production/union payroll process.
  • Lead point of contact for any pay or tax related inquiries or issues.
  • Keeps current on all payroll compliance legislation.

Benefits Administration

  • Coordinate daily benefits processing. Handle changes in enrollments, COBRA, beneficiaries, disability, etc.
  • Administrative point of contact for all benefits administration, including orientations and annual open enrollment.
  • Administers all daily activities within the 401K Program, including being the lead point of contact for annual requirements such as census, discriminatory testing, 5500, and 401K audit.
  • Reconcile and pay benefit providers in alignment with employee withholdings.

HRIS System Administration

  • Partner with HR team in the new hire orientation process, specifically involving the HRIS setup impacting payroll and benefits.
  • Oversee maintenance of employee files, maintain group benefits database and update employee payroll records.
  • Oversight of payroll tax compliance with HRIS provider.
  • Partners with Assistant Controller to perform year-end balancing and processing functions for W2 and 1095’s.

Other:

· Work collaboratively with Seating Division HR team. Including special projects on an as needed basis.

· Partner with Telescopic Division HR team for continued alignment of plans, process, and procedures.

Qualifications:

Minimum 3 to 5 years of payroll processing experience.

Experience in an HRIS system, UKG Ready a plus.
