Job description
Natick Public Schools Music Department is looking to add to our staff of "after school" Music teachers. We are looking for individuals to teach percussion for grades 4-12 in our afterschool program.
The ideal candidate will:
- Identify concepts and methods that advance playing for beginners through advanced students
- Implement technical lessons that correspond to the standards being taught in band classes
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
- Teach in Class, small group, duo, and private lessons
- Employ methods that motivate students
- Have strong classroom management skills
- Be able to work independently
- Prepare upper level students for recitals
- Be positive, encouraging, and make students want to explore music more deeply
- Maintain high expectations for performance,
Schedule and workload TBD based on interest. Generally, elementary lessons are between 11 AM and 1 PM, and middle school and high school are after 2:00 PM. There is some room to make your own schedule.
