Position Location: Modesto, California

Job Duties: The position will lead Quality and Performance roadmap across the Modesto Manufacturing facility, including collaboration with our sister company, HM Clause in France and Nampa, Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Seed Tech and Supply Chain Planning.

PERFORMANCE:
Lead and implement the in-house ELITE operational excellence plan as Elite coordinator for all manufacturing plant departments. ELITE is the continuous improvement program for HM Clause. This includes assisting in creating and measuring KPI's, supporting in Problem solving methodology and driving 5S, SIM compliance through regular audits.
Train, develop and maintain the ELITE methodologies locally, and as our Global Elite leader.
Coordinate a Global Elite community.
Ensure & steer Elite sustainable progress globally: each site to continue reinforcing already deployed practices and deploy next practices with a sense of priority. Measure progress (simply), ensure quality of deployments. (KPIs: each site with 1 new Elite practice implemented or anchored).
Foster best practice sharing (KPIs: several best practices shared and 3 reused by someone else).
Leveraging the Elite community, built in alignment: Create common standards, harmonize key practices (KPI: 2 standards harmonized).
Ensure trainings (1 training / year per location).
Enroll and foster deployment outside of SC (wider HMC Elite Forum).
Contribute to the development of our global Performance program (help establishing standards).
Contribute and lead global or transversal performance or manufacturing topics (such as performance benchmarking).
Support consolidating performance reporting and routine animation.
QUALITY:
Responsible for creating a Product Quality roadmap to enable the Manufacturing plant to obtain our goal of “First time right” – quality.
Support the Manufacturing plant to master product quality through the above roadmap set.
Review processes and determine critical control points in each process to identify and create internal standards and internal control.
Manage all internal and external quality complaints and support the plant departments in the problem-solving process and improvement actions.
Responsible to manage the accuracy and quality of samples taken throughout the plant by reviewing and auditing processes and ensuring calibration of equipment used and training of operators.
Act as the interface between Quality Assurance department and Manufacturing plant for any external accreditations and certifications.
Lead the cross-functional network of QA Relay officers to ensure updated training and updated work instructions are available on the Aquarius system.
Lead and implement the inhouse ELITE operational excellence plan as Elite coordinator for all manufacturing plant departments. This includes assisting in creating and measuring KPI’s, supporting in Problem solving methodology and driving 5S compliance.
Manage and Support Seed inspection department.
Review work instructions and provide trainings
Harmonize and review current standards in place
Take final decision in collaboration with manufacturing department for products outside tolerances.
Support the development of Safety throughout the Plant.

Profile

Minimum Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Agricultural or Food Science, or related field. Three years’ experience with continuous improvement programs and/or LEAN manufacturing required. Three years’ experience in quality management required. Three years of people management experience.
