Job description

Under the direct supervision of the Perioperative Services Manager and indirectly the Director of Perioperative Services, this position will support Perioperative and Pain Management Services in the scheduling of patients and providing phone triage. This position assists in coordinating appropriate and professional unit communication while providing clerical support as needed.

Requirements:

• Graduate of a medical secretary course or minimum of one-year equivalent experience in a healthcare setting
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology-must pass basic medical terminology exam
• Minimum of one-year Perioperative experience preferred
• Must be proficient and independent in OpTime/Cadence EPIC workflows within 60 days of hire
• Must be proficient in Microsoft products that support department initiatives within 60 days of hire
• Ability to work irregular shifts depending on department needs
• Ability to professionally train other department staff members as needed
• Licensure or Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) required

Shift Time: 8- hour shifts
