Arizona Urology Specialists is a member of United Urology Group, a management services organization whose member groups of urology practices today also include: Chesapeake Urology, with 30 offices located throughout Maryland and Delaware, Tennessee Urology with 11 locations in Knoxville and surrounding counties, and Colorado Urology with 6 offices located in the greater Denver region.
We are seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner for our Scottsdale location. This is a Monday-Friday position with occasional call coverage.
Advanced Practice Provider Responsibilities:
- Evaluates patient reviewing medical history, performing an appropriate physical exam, and developing a treatment regimen in the and out-patient office setting.
- Interprets and evaluates patient data for the purpose of determining management and treatment of patients. Consult with physician as appropriate.
- Adjusts patient care plan by reviewing and monitoring treatments and therapy plans.
- Administers or orders laboratory, radiological and diagnostic tests that will assist with the medical management; explain the necessity, preparation, nature and anticipates effects of treatments, and diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to the patient.
- Perform therapeutic procedures, such as injections, immunizations, suturing, wound care and infection management.
- Prescribes, recommends, and regulates appropriate pharmacologic medicine.
- Documents appropriately and communicates with the appropriate physician in a timely manner as required, including, but not limited to: evaluations, treatment plans, progress reports, billing documentation, treatment notes, and other reports as requested.
- Obtain advanced practice skills including I & D of scrotal abscess, priapism management, and flexible cystoscopy certification for purposes of difficult foley catheter placement

Physician Assistant Requirements:
Bachelor’s or Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies.
Certification required as a Physician Assistant granted by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
Certification in Urological Procedures (ie: cystoscopy) preferred.
Licensure as Physician Assistant in the state of Arizona.
Valid DEA drug license and Arizona controlled substance license required.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a physician assistant.
Urology or Oncology experience preferred but not essential.
Current ACLS, BLS and CPR certification required.
