If so, the Clermont County Board of Commissioners would like the opportunity to speak with you about a full-time County Planner / County Senior Planner position with the Department of Community and Economic Development.
With Support from the Board of County Commissioners and the Community and Economic Development Department, the ideal candidate will have the flexibility and opportunity to reshape how the Planning process is applied in Clermont County. This position has the opportunity to work will all levels of Government including the Cities, Villages and Townships that make up Clermont County. The position will provide Planning and Zoning technical assistance as requested and be responsible for updating the Board of County Commissioners on current planning and zoning trends such as alternative energy, new and emerging land uses, sustainable development, and best practices related to planning.
This position will also collaborate and participate in developments and subdivision approval with the Ohio Department of Transportation, County Engineer, County Building Department, and County Water and Sewer Department.

JOB DUTIES:
Planning Commission Staff Support. Prepares technical review of rezoning requests or subdivision applications for approval by Planning Commission (PC). Primary staff liaison to PC. Responsible for management of process (meetings, advisory committee, and public involvement) as well as creation of content for county Comprehensive Land Use Plan, county Subdivision Regulations and any other plans related to land use.
Community Assistance. Under the Guidance of the Assistant County Administrator, Provides assistance to local communities to review or provide technical support in creating updates to local Comprehensive Plan/Land Use Plan. Also reviews, or assists in preparation of, zoning resolution text and map updates.
Minor Subdivisions. Reviews and processes applications for lot splits, re-plats and transfers to ensure they conform with Ohio Revised Code, County subdivision regulations and local zoning regulations.
Community Liaison. May represent the County Commissioners and/or PC on boards or other groups in relation to local or regional planning efforts or events, including but not limited to OKI Land Use Steering Committee or Intermodal Coordinating Committee.
Website and Database Management. Updates planning section of County website as needed. Updates and maintains database(s) containing information on minor subdivision processing, major subdivisions, and other work reviewed by PC.
Works alone or with other persons in short- or long-term team projects to resolve problems or conflicts in any area of county operations or to complete assigned projects at the direction of any county supervisor or Department Head when assigned. Participates in cross-training and maintains proficiency in area of cross-training as necessary. New and other related duties as assigned. Works aggressively to reduce or eliminate safety/risk concerns in current position or work location.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Undergraduate degree in Public Administration, Planning or other similarly related field required. Community Planning experience, including but not limited to: reviewing and providing staff recommendations for zone change requests and subdivision plans; reviewing and providing staff analyses for minor subdivision applications; and presenting staff reports and recommendations to a planning commission or zoning commission. Demonstrated experience writing, editing, and publishing articles and reports for publication. Demonstrated experience creating maps using current Geographic Information Systems Software, and incorporating maps into reports and presentations. Demonstrated experience presenting reports, findings and recommendations to planning commissions, zoning boards and similar groups in a public meeting. Demonstrated experience using sound judgment to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions that are aligned with agency policies. Demonstrated experience coordinating several projects simultaneously with a series of continuous deadlines. Ability to respond to emergency situations during and outside normal business hours. Must have and maintain a valid driver's license. Or must possess Education, training, and/or experience in an amount equal to the Minimum Qualifications stated above.

Pay: $41,371.00 - $61,027.00 per year
