Design Precast & Pipe, Inc. is seeking a Plant Manager to join our team! You’ll be responsible for providing leadership and direction to the facility with the vision and values of DPPI. Additionally, the Plant Manager will lead and direct site employees/staff to ensure consistent productivity and efficient production. The Plant Manager will report to the General Manager.
We're a local, family-owned pipe and precast manufacturer that’s constantly growing. We have production facilities in Gulfport, MS, and Arnaudville, LA. We are hiring a Plant Manager for both locations, but this application is for the LA position only. Check our other listings for the MS position.

Responsibilities
- Essential duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Leads the manufacturing teams
- Creates and sustains a safe working environment for the facility
- Ensures systems and processes exist in the facility to manufacture quality products efficiently
- Successfully hire, supervise, orient, and train staff and team members in disciplines that will improve performance
- Provide employees with information, leadership and development, succession planning, and training opportunities
- Drives continuous safety, environmental, and quality improvements and culture
- Ensure compliance with production and delivery schedules
- Drives the development, communication, and execution of strategic plans
- Develops a process to implement plans
- Lead performance management effort that includes the identification/communication of critical success factors with staff and subordinates
- Accountable for achieving forecasted financial performance targets
- Drive performance improvements in all areas including capital deployment
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with key strategic external customers
- Establish and monitor performance plans for staff and subordinates
- Track key performance metrics and hold reports accountable for results
- Provide leadership in process redesign, productivity, quality, and customer service
- Manage budget and cost reduction initiatives
- Develop, implement and communicate strategic plans to personnel
- Develops self, staff, and employees for advancement and contribution to the success of the business
Knowledge/Skills/Ability
- Previous experience as a plant manager
- Demonstrated ability to effectively plan and allocate resources
- Strong written and oral communication skills across all levels of the organization
- Proven track record of developing, implementing, and utilizing processes, procedures, and standardization of work
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate resources to meet internal business objectives and customer expectations
- Thorough knowledge of effective and efficient production and lean manufacturing methods
- Thorough knowledge of company products, policies, and procedures
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, team building, and project management skills
- Demonstrated successful application of managerial/supervisory skills
- Demonstrated skills or knowledge of budgeting/financial analysis skills
- Strong analytical and mathematical ability
- Ability to operate a computer and supporting software packages
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to effectively implement change
- Ability to facilitate meetings and lead teams
- Ability to effectively manage conflict
Qualifications
- Minimum: High School Diploma (or equivalent) with 8+ years of leadership experience in an industrial environment leading multiple departments
(or)
- Associate’s degree in Business, Manufacturing, Engineering Technology, Production, or a related field
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
