A postdoctoral position on the structural biology and biochemistry of the circadian clock of cyanobacteria is open in the lab of Andy LiWang at the University of California, Merced. The project is to elucidate the mechanisms by which this clock manages to provide an internal representation of time reliably under a range of ambient conditions. The postdoc will be responsible for the design, execution, and analysis of experiments on oscillating clock reactions using biochemical and biophysical techniques. The successful candidate will conduct independent and original research in a supportive, collegial, inclusive, and highly collaborative work environment. Members of the LiWang group have many opportunities to present their work at national and international conferences.
