The Airstream Pre-Owned Acquisition Manager is responsible for obtaining profitable pre-owned Airstream inventory through successful marketing and negotiations supported by our national, #1 ranked, Airstream dealer group. The Pre-Owned Acquisition Manager coordinates wholesale purchases, attends off-site auctions and identifies private party purchase opportunities for six dealer points in four western states. The Pre-Owned Acquisition Manager negotiates purchases considering condition and current market demands. The Pre-Owned Acquisition Manager partners with dealership Sales, Service and Parts Managers to create reconditioning plans that maximize the resale value of the pre-owned inventory with an emphasis on fast turns and an outstanding Guest ownership experience.

The Preowned Acquisition Manager reports to the Airstream Multi-Store General Manager, and Platform General Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Acquire used Airstream inventory through private purchases, consignments, off-site auctions, wholesale purchases, website inquiries, and other available opportunities.
  • Appraise Airstreams with an understanding of how the condition impacts resale value, negotiate the purchase price, and ensure timely reconditioning and line-ready status for all pre-owned inventory.
  • Identify and contact private party Airstream owners who are actively selling their Airstream.
  • Use Lithia’s data mining and scrubbing tools to assist with the search for pre-owned Airstream inventory.
  • Responsible for understanding retail trends and participating in the overall inventory planning process.
  • Delivers a premium Guest experience by responding to Guest’s inquiries in a prompt, professional, accurate, and courteous manner. This highly accountable position uses lead management tools including the DealerSocket CRM.
  • Coordinate the transportation of purchased or consigned Airstreams with Airstream Adventure’s Transportation Manager.
  • Create and oversee reconditioning plans for acquired Airstreams partnering with dealership Sales, Service, and Parts Managers.
  • Ensures all units are posted to the dealer group’s website in a timely manner.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced team environment, be an effective self-starter and work individually as needs dictate.
  • Generate leads and purchase appointments.
  • Achieve buying quotas.
  • Understand market tendencies and changes in trends for all geographic areas.
  • Effectively utilize lead management tools to maximize purchase opportunities.
  • Prepare all purchase documents, fulfilling both state and Airstream Adventure’s requirements.
  • Compile necessary reports, forms, and other documentation on a timely basis.
  • Be the expert for all aspects of pre-owned Airstream purchasing, selling, and stocking.

High School graduate or equivalent, 18 years or older required. Acceptable driving record and a valid driver's license in your state of residence necessary for select roles.
