Job description
The President of Grandin Road will have full P&L responsibility for the business. This individual will be responsible for leading the strategic vision and the execution to continue the growth and development of this leading home lifestyle brand. The President will create and implement strategic plans to heighten brand awareness, drive product development and lead marketing initiatives for this joyful, attainable home décor brand. This visionary, high energy leader will assume responsibility for setting the overall direction of the company, protect its brand equity, and profitably grow the company over time. The President will evaluate the strategy and brand exposure through all current channels of distribution. Utilizing an “outside in” approach, he/she will identify, evaluate and execute brand-relevant, growth oriented opportunities for the business geared toward increased customer acquisition and overall profitability.
- Be the visionary and strategic leader to bring Grandin Road to the next level of evolution through unique product, brand development and customer experience.
- Expand brand awareness to ensure that everyone who should be buying from Grandin Road is exposed to its message.
- Develop and drive a strategic growth strategy for the business by coordinating channels of distribution to ensure a consistent brand image while adding differentiation and new ways to extend the business.
- Assess and evaluate the current initiatives within a multi-channel business context.
- Lead long range strategic planning and develop shorter range tactical plans to ensure continued success.
- Organically grow key existing business classifications while continuing to expand share of wallet opportunities within the range of our consumer.
- Inspire merchandise development, process flow, and ongoing development
- Successfully lead the management team to achieve shared goals by inspiring them and challenging them to think outside the box.
- Owns the full P&L and holds others accountable to the bottom line.
- Continuously evaluate organization structure and reporting relationships to ensure that we are positioned for future growth and is efficiently using its resources.
- Build bench strength to grow the brand, providing the right development opportunities, and attract the best talent.
- Be up to date on industry best practices to keep the company at the forefront if being best in class.
- Evaluate new channels of distribution and emerging technologies.
Professional Experience/Qualifications
The successful executive will be a strong general manager who understands how to build and develop a brand through strategy, product, and marketing. In addition, they will have a passion for aspirational, lifestyle brands and will have had experience building and identifying growth opportunities. They will bring strong product sensibility and brand experience. This executive will understand customer needs and attitudes and will understand the important role new media and multi-channel approaches plays in engaging customers.
The ideal candidate will also be/have:
- A visionary leader who can lead a team to strategic execution in this fast-moving retail environment.
- Demonstrated experience growing a multi-channel home business.
- Successful growth experience; building or growing a multi-channel business, resulting in meaningful outcomes both organizationally and financially.
- Strong foundation/knowledge in digital marketing, preferably in a multi-channel environment.
- Proven general manager with a minimum of 10 years’ leadership experience with a track record of delivering results in a customer focused multi-channel company.
- High taste level; an intuitive sense of the brand and its future potential.
- Curious and learning approach to leadership.
- Comfortable working with a mature team to garner the best information out of them to understand the past yet plan for the future.
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree required and M.B.A. is preferred.
