As Principal Software Engineer, as part of eCommerce IT team, responsible for development operations, specializing in Java, building software using technologies such as Chef, Puppet, Maven, Gradle, Docker, Kubernetes and GIT. Develop and support public facing shipping API software. Build and maintain tools, method/process, and interface for deployment of applications and services to different environments. Provide stable solutions and maintenance for CI and CD. Monitor development to production environments for availability and performance. Develop and maintain system monitors and alerts in support of the platform. Define and maintain Access Management and Change Management guidelines in support of security, audit and traceability. Security leadership for the Shipping API platform including integration of the platform with tools like Crowdstrike, Rapid7 and Anchore. Research, test and implement leading technical solutions to improve performance and stability of applications and services. Support production environments across the globe. 100% remote position. May work from home.

Must possess at least a master’s degree or its equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or a related field and at least three years of experience with AWS cloud architecture and services. In the alternative, at least a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or a related field and at least five years of prior progressive work experience with AWS cloud architecture and services. Must also possess at least three years of experience with Maven and/or Gradle for builds; at least three years of experience with Jenkins and Pipeline, including CI/job scheduler; at least three years of experience with GIT or equivalent version control systems; at least three years of experience with Python (coding and scripting) and package mgmt. software; at least three years of experience with Linux/Unix administration; at least two years of experience with Terraform for configuration management; at least two years of experience with Project management, defining tasks, schedules, and overall project plan; at least two years of experience building applications in a Kubernetes container framework; and at least two years of experience working with DNS configuration and set-up, including tools like Route53, CloudFlare or Imperva.
