Help AAR Government Supply Chain team meet strategic objectives and provide consultation to management. Perform all required activities involved with purchasing and repairing goods and services, such as materials, equipment, tools, parts, and supplies. Confer with vendors or suppliers to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedules. Procurement Lead shall be versed in determining the method of procurements, repairs, prepare orders or bid requests, review bid proposals, and negotiate orders within budget. Provides coaching and feedback to the rest of the procurement team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare purchase and repair orders and send copies to suppliers and to departments originating requests.
• Determine if inventory quantities are sufficient for forecast needs, ordering more materials when necessary.
• Respond to customer and supplier inquiries about order status, changes, or cancellations.
• Contact suppliers in order to schedule or expedite deliveries and to resolve shortages, missed or late deliveries, and other problems.
• Review requisition orders in order to verify accuracy, terminology, and specifications
• Analyze quotes and conduct source selection to determine the vendor(s) which provide the best value, or lowest price, while aligning with AAR’s operational requirements.
• Establish and build strong relationships with internal customers and other key stakeholders.
• Source and procure in compliance with all AAR policies and procedures. Make recommendations on changing compliance procedures as necessary.
• Conduct negotiations with vendors, when appropriate, to ensure AAR receives the best possible offers.
• Will coach other buyers and repair order specialists.
• Has strong knowledge of IMOPS database and uses skillset to teach others.
• Attend meetings as necessary in place of management and make decisions as necessary in place of management.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor of Arts degree (B.A.) or Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) from a four-year college or university and four years of related experience; or six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least three (3) to (4) years of procurement experience.
• Military aircraft and related supply chain knowledge and/or experience preferred.
• Effective communications skills in English.
