What We Need:

Brady's Workplace Safety (WPS) business is positioning for growth. Product management and marketing will play a critical role in defining the direction and securing WPS business growth and profitability. As the industry has evolved from a catalog sales channel to an online platform, Product Management continues to be the strategic lever driving positioning, channel, pricing and related marketing direction. As Product Manager, you will lead marketing activities for your products, oversee the growth of a product portfolio, and define and execute product positioning. The Product Manager will be the voice of the customers in how they buy and their buying criteria, and will transfer that knowledge to the sales channels.

In addition, the WPS Product Manager has ownership of the new product pipeline cycle planning, ideation facilitation, and reporting. This position is responsible for managing the product throughout the product lifecycle, gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, and defining the product vision. There will be broad visibility throughout the organization by working with sales, production, and support functions to drive business performance. The Product Manager will own the strategic business plan, revenue, and profit performance of their product lines across all customer segments in WPS's Americas businesses.

Brady offers a hybrid work option that allows for both personal flexibility and in person collaboration to deliver the greatest outcomes for our people and customers. This option is a mix of in the office and one or two offsite days which are pre-determined based on role and function.

What You'll Be Doing:

The WPS Product Manager serves as a business line manager with P&L responsibility and is responsible for the development of the marketing plan and execution activities to maximize sales and profitability. Specific responsibilities include strategic direction, new product pipeline, product line management, program performance, schedule, and financial performance including, but not limited to:

  • Deliver growth strategies for assigned product lines based on research and analysis.
  • Conduct analysis of market segments to identify, define, and develop new product opportunities.
  • Develop product pricing, positioning, and messaging that differentiates WPS products in the market.
  • Define and execute multi-channel strategies and actions for online and off-line (catalog, telesales, etc.) to maximize share and profitability.
  • Working with suppliers and R&D, manage new product roadmap and pipeline.
  • Provide strategic, financial and technical justification for product selection and definition.
  • Conduct market research and voice of customer initiatives to identify and track market trends.
  • Own market intelligence - understand the competitive landscape and provide competitive analysis to strengthen and widen WPS's market position.
  • Deliver the business case for product with prioritized features and corresponding justification
  • Collaborate proactively with a wide variety of functional areas such as sales, marketing, and operations to develop and provide multimedia product marketing.
  • Increase demand generation by developing the strategy and managing the marketing programs that drive demand for WPS products.

What You'll Need To Be Successful:

The WPS Product Manager, Americas will have a minimum of 5 years of marketing and product management experience for a multi-SKU complex business. Must possess proven track record of development and implementation of marketing initiatives that lead to profitable growth.

Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong problem solving skills to structure and conduct analysis and to drive robust decisions.
  • Marketing experience in catalog and/or digital channels.
  • Marketing expertise in a multi-SKU environment with product line complexity and variety.
  • Success leading marketing, strategic planning and growth initiatives and proven marketing, strategic, analytical and implementation skills.
  • Sufficient technical depth to fully understand product development trade-offs and next best alternatives.
  • Ability to define new product development strategies for assigned lines and execute acquisition and/or manufacture of the products to meet market needs.
  • Ability to define, plan, and execute new product launch materials.
  • Experience developing and implementing pricing strategies based on an understanding of market trends, competitive positions, opportunities and resources.
  • Ability to perform financial analysis (NPV, IRR, payback, etc.) to support rational business decisions.
  • Excellent analytical skills - data driven and focused on fact based assessments leading to economic outcomes and other quantifiable deliverables with plans for achievement.
  • An undergraduate degree in engineering, marketing, economics or other highly analytical/technical discipline required. An advanced degree is a plus.
