PATH operates services throughout California, connecting our clients to a comprehensive continuum of homelessness prevention, street outreach, employment preparation and placement assistance, individualized case management, supportive services, interim housing, and permanent supportive housing.

PATH is seeking highly organized and detailed orientated candidates who share our commitment to our mission of ending homelessness to join our San Diego team as a Program Specialist.

WHAT IS A PROGRAM SPECIALIST?
Working directly under the Regional Director, the Program Specialist provides a variety of operational and programmatic support for our programs in San Diego. Responsibilities of the Program Specialist Include:

  • Provide support such as drafting and editing emails, documents, and communications on behalf of the
    supervisor
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate records
  • Support with internal and external inquiries related to programs
  • Assist the supervisor with processing and completing task related to programs, human resources, quality
    assurance, finance, and external affairs (development)
  • Support with developing reports and other presentations
  • Provide back-up support for other tasks within the department

We're looking for candidates that:

  • Demonstrate the flexibility, adaptability, and capability to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Possess strong prioritization, time management, organization, and multitasking skills, demonstrating the ability to effectively coordinate multiple demands in a high-pressure environment
  • Are detail-orientated
  • Maintain and execute confidential information according to HIPPA and all other applicable standards
  • Work just as well independently as they do on a team
  • Exercise mature judgement, and are highly motivated, self-starting, and proactive
  • Are excellent at communicating, whether in writing or verbally
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact and build successful collaborative relationships with a diverse range of individuals at all levels of the the organization, both internally and externally

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
An excellent candidate for this role will:

  • Have previous experience providing administrative support in a non-profit environment
  • Hold a Bachelor's Degree in a related field such as business administration or non-profit management

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
To be considered for this position, we require all candidates:

  • Have at least 1 year of experience providing administrative support in a professional environment
  • Be proficient with computers and technologies used for work outputs, especially Microsoft Office Software

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS
Regardless of qualifications, the Program Specialist must:

  • Be able and willing to work flexible hours which may include evenings or weekends
  • Have employment eligibility verification
  • Have or be able and willing to obtain CPR/First Aid training
  • Provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination
  • Successfully complete the following as a condition of hire:
    • Tuberculosis Test
    • Background Screening
    • Drug Test

DRIVING
Driving is an essential function of this position. To meet the employment requirements for this role, all candidates must:

  • Have reliable transportation
  • A valid driver's license
  • Proof of insurance and ownership for personal vehicles used during work duties
  • The ability to qualify for PATH's insurance coverage

COVID-19 VACCINATION
Effective 11/01/2021 PATH will require all employees to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. All prospective hires will be expected to provide proof of full vaccination as part of the pre-employment credentialing process.

FLEXIBLE WORK
PATH is a California employer. Therefore, all regular and customary work must be performed within the state. Approval for work outside of the office, does not establish approval for work to be conducted outside of California.
