    Project Lead the Way Teacher - Middle School

    Position Purpose
    The Project Lead the Way teacher is responsible for classroom instruction of the Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Gateway Unit: Medical Detectives.


    Essential Functions
    • Must have evidence of teacher effectiveness by meeting the essential job functions of a teaching position.
    • Successful experience working with adolescents.
    • Works collaboratively with all stakeholders.
    • Evidence of Leadership abilities.
    • Passionate about integrating Science, Technology, Engineering and Math to support thinking and problem solving.
    • Willingness to meet with leadership teams to plan for cluster and professional development opportunities.
    • Willing to be available for PLTW training and training with staff on "Teaching for the Stretch".
    • Willing to train in the PLTW Launch modules.
    • Willing to support Teaching for the Stretch, Thinking and Problem Solving, and make connections with PLTW rotations and other initiatives during cluster and other training opportunities.
    • Willing to create additional lessons to differentiate and/or extend students thinking on the PLTW modules within each unit.

    Equipment
    Uses standard office equipment such as personal computers, printer, copy and fax machines, and telephone.


    Travel Requirements
    Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.


    Pay Rates
    PEA certified position.

    Work Schedule
    Standard teacher work schedule as set forth in the Teacher's Contract.

    License/ Registration/ Certification
    • Current Indiana Teacher’s License, in subject area applicable to teaching assignment.

    Education
    • Masters from an accredited college or university in Education or related discipline applicable to teaching assignment.

    Experience
    • Previous experience is preferred.
