Class Summary
The Theatre Box Office Assistant is responsible for taking phone reservations,
handling walk-up customers, inputting reservations and printing tickets in the
ticketing software. They will work during performances and on-call as needed.

Posting Detail Information

Minimum Education/Training/Experience
Equivalent to graduation from high school and two (2) years
of general clerical or customer service experience.

Preferred Education/Training/Experience
Associates degree or higher, and experience working in a Box Office
or customer service environment.

Minimum Knowledge & Skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Making accurate arithmetic calculations
  • Previous customer service experience
  • Microsoft Office
  • Strong communication skills interacting with coworkers, supervisors,
students and the general public

Preferred Knowledge & Skills
  • Customer Service experience / Box Office experience
  • The use of specialized computer application involving the input
of ticket reservations

Job Duties
o Work hours as needed on performance days:
Thu-Fri 4:00pm – 7:00-8:30pm* / Sat 3:00pm – 7:00-8:30pm*
Sundays 1:00pm – 2:30pm-4:00pm*
(*work two intermissions each week of play /show run time varies)
Performances are Thu-Fri-Sat at 7:00pm and Sun at 2:30pm beginning
September 2022.
o Monitor on-line ticket reservations
o Answer all incoming phone calls
o Help walk-up customers
o Input reservations
o Print Tickets
o File reservation envelopes in appropriate show day
o Scan tickets at the door and/or usher patrons to their seats
30 minutes before show time

Physical Requirements
Work is performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
Standing and/or using stairs in the Theatre is required for 30 minutes prior
to show time.

Minimum Salary Range
$12.50/hour

Mid Point Salary Range
$12.50/hour
