Public Health Tech / Medical Assistant / Receptionist

This position is full time and based within the Gaylord High School.

Public Health Technicians are the first point of contact for the youth (ages 10 - 21) we serve, and provide assistance and information to them regarding program opportunities and enrollment. They assist with insuring smooth clinic operations by preparing charts, processing paperwork, initiating medical billing, scheduling clients, and by performing activities such as answering telephones, utilizing multiple computer systems, performing routine health tests and lab procedures.

Applicants must have strong organizational and communication skills, the ability to interact and work well with children, adolescents, and their families, and the ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously while following established policies and meeting deadlines.

REQUIREMENTS - Requirements for this position include -

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Previous experience working in a clinical setting or with children
  • Minimum of one to three years' experience working in a clinic or medical setting and/or with children
  • CPR certification or willingness to become CPR certified.
