The Forecasting, Integration, Replenishment, and Engineering (FIRE) team within the Global Specialty Fulfillment (GSF) organization is seeking bright, motivated, hardworking individuals to fill a Purchasing Assistant position within our GSF Procurement Operations Center (GPOC). GPOC partners with numerous Operations teams across specialty fulfillment centers in administering the flow of non-inventory goods in a near just-in-time manner. The Purchasing Assistant will develop skills and work across many areas to support related processing needs. This role reports to a Procurement Area Managers (PAM) and is guided by a Procurement Purchasing Lead (PPL). Our team approaches work as seeing no job to small and no challenge to big!

Key job responsibilities
  • Processing daily web-based requisitions and managing the purchase order (PO) process through requisition filing, PO tracking, invoice reconciliation, and receipt processing.
  • Supporting operations escalations through managing and responding to web-based requests.
  • Assisting with review of forecasts and analysis of daily/weekly/monthly and annual historical usage information to determine: consumable item projections, short-term requirements, and excess inventory.
  • Coordinating with some outside vendors/manufacturers.
  • Assisting in researching and identifying qualified vendors for a variety of specialty fulfillment center demands.
  • Reviewing and updating existing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); drafting new SOPs; and improving processes.
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts and schedules including evenings or weekends.
  • Previous Purchasing experience and using purchasing software
  • Experience using a trouble ticket management system
  • Experience prioritizing work based on operational and production objectives
  • Experience in direct customer service and simultaneously managing multiple customer requests
  • Experience communicating with vendors
