The Behavioral Health Quality Assurance Assistant serves to assist the Director-QA-Behavioral Health with regard to Incident Management and Psych QA Committee of the various programs and units of the Department of Psychiatry.
Responsibilities:
- Prepares the packet to be reviewed at the Incident Review Committee and completes the minutes.
- Files the cases and minutes
- Reviews chart in relation to the incident
- Collects the QA reports from the various units/clinics/programs of the department to be reported at the Psych QA Committee and completes the minutes
- Follow up various clinics/ programs regarding submission of documentation of implemented corrective actions and file
- Aggregate data, prepares & compiles trending reports
- Completes Focus Reviews as assigned and submit to the Director for review
- Coordinates activities related to chart requests, reviews and Committee meetings.
- Import Justice Center cases to NIMRS.
- Prepares documents for the 72 hour request of the Justice Center
- Reviews video footage, file and summary report of sequence of observed footage event
- Coordinates scheduled Justice Center request for staff interviews including the patient
- Helps Clinical Coordinators to investigate internal cases, collects supporting documents, reviews video footage and prepares narrative report including conclusion and possible corrective action plans for the case. Narrative is submitted to her Supervisor for review and approval.
- NICS reporting for OBH, Interfaith and Brookdale.
- Performs Internet research
- Attends the Incident Review Committee and the Psychiatry QA Committee.
- Observes HIPAA; maintains and ensures the confidentiality of all Personal Health Information collected.
- Maintains strict confidentiality of client, company and personnel information.
- Adheres to hospital attendance standards.
- Other responsibilities that can be assigned at any time by the Supervisor essential to the operation of the BH-QA Department.
Education
:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
Experience:
- A minimum of two (2) years of job-related experience with the mentally ill, and/or substance abuse population.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Proficiency with Office PC's, Desktops, and Laptop software in addition to familiarity with Microsoft Office softwares to include Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, etc.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills a must.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing is required.
- Must be detail oriented.
- Ability to multi-task, and work as a member of a team.
Physical Requirements

- Position may require prolonged periods of standing, walking, talking, sitting, hearing, and bending throughout the work day.
- May include some repetitive motions.
