Role Purpose:

This position is responsible for testing all foam produced to ensure it meets specified requirements and take appropriate actions after results are available.


Responsibilities:

  • Maintains and issues product specifications
  • Assists in maintaining gage certification program
  • Performs gage reliability and reproducibility studies
  • Travel to customer locations as required
  • This position may be required to work daily and/or weekend overtime
  • Performs process audits as required
  • Assists Quality Manager and Quality Engineers in root cause analysis
  • Monitors the pour process and production processes for proper set-ups and proper documentation of their required quality checks
  • Creates PPAPs and maintains PPAP database
  • Responsible for compliance with safety standards and good housekeeping

  • Minimum: High School Diploma or GED, preferred associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents and training materials such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills are required.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to be able to recognize and take appropriate action if an issue comes up that is not clearly defined by work instructions or regulations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers, handle, feel; reach with hands and arms; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, and hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

Standard work hours will consist of eight hours per day, five days per week on an assigned shift.


Scheduled hours may be altered as required by business conditions. This may be more (or less) than eight hours per day or five days per week. An ability to work overtime or irregular hours to include Saturdays, Sundays and holidays is essential for this position.
