Pay Range / Rango salarial: $67,600.00 USD - $121,700.00 USD

PRIMARY FUNCTION

Supervises Target Team Members in overseeing the daily operation of the Quality Control Department. Evaluates and analyzes operating methods and procedures for quality control, decides which methods and procedures to use and implements those procedures. Identifies, evaluates, and implements innovative and creative ways to achieve desired results in the areas of inventory accuracy, quality, productivity, service, cost effectiveness, and growth and development of team members.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise Team Members to achieve desired results in quality control.
  • Ensure performance plans are set, maintained, and continuously improved; generate creative solutions to identify improvements in processes to support quality control.
  • Collaborate across departments to drive quality goals while fostering an environment in which diverse backgrounds are respected and valued.
  • Evaluate and analyze operating methods and procedures for quality control improvements, decides which methods and procedures to use and implements those procedures.
  • Ensure leadership & hourly teams understand processes that impact building quality performance and adhere to stated best practices.
  • Leverage Quality Control Team to root cause and improve building’s performance.
  • Corrective Action: Take appropriate counseling and corrective action, in partnership with Human Resources, when team member performance is not meeting expectations.
  • Leading: Leads assigned department(s), ensuring maximum productivity, growth and development of team members.
    • Hiring: Interview, recommend and/or and select new team members. Provide departmental specific orientations to new hires.
    • Training: Assess and select team member trainers, ensure training timetable is followed and certification is awarded as applicable. Promotes cross-training as appropriate to support operational flexibility.
    • Team Member Growth and Development: Engage and develop team members to maximize performance. Makes real time behavioral observations and gives regular and specific feedback on individual and team performance. Respond to all team members’ questions and concerns. Conduct team members performance reviews, and provides input for specialty training/roles, transfer and promotional opportunities.
  • Drive personal growth and development by leveraging tools, resources, and relationships with other leaders
  • Manage a safe workplace by advocating safety training and accident preparedness.
  • Actively partner internally and externally seeking urgency of resolution for items in Problem Area/Receiving.
  • Communication: Effectively communicates company news, policies and procedures with team members. Establishes and maintains effective relationships with Senior Operations Managers and peers.

REPORTING/WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

Reports to Sr. Mgr. Grocery Quality Management. Works with all Operations Managers & Senior Operations Managers within the FDC.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Four year degree or equivalent years of experience
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to a variety of audiences; strong reasoning, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to motivate teams and manage conflict; ability to provide feedback and develop team.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and effectively communicate necessary policies and procedures to others.
  • Ability to access all levels and areas of facility.
  • Ability to supervise team members at various days and times since most facilities operate 24/7 requiring team members to be open to working non-rotational shifts.

DESIRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • USDA HACCP certification
  • USDA United Fresh Produce Association Training preferred
  • Advanced degree
  • Prior experience in distribution, manufacturing, or supply chain/logistics
  • Applicable management/supervisory experience
  • Open to relocation
