The work of the General Labor classification, depending on assignment, includes any or all of the following: Performs a variety of manual tasks not requiring the continuous performance of a mechanical or trade skill to include but not limited to the following duties;

• Performs rust and corrosion control work on various equipment

• Prepares equipment for painting and assists painters

• Provides assistance to mechanics and technicians

• Cleans and organizes shop tools and vehicles

• Capable of driving company vehicles for transporting of supplies, materials etc.

• Light maintenance work

• Computer skills for data entry into electronic work order system

• Performs other duties as directed by the leads, supervisors, and managers

• Interior/exterior passenger bridge cleaning

• Exterior bridge washing

As may apply to any particular work assignment, will complete additional jobs as directed by management, and will work according to Company policy and /or regulations.

It is understood and agreed that the Company will determine the need and use of the General Labor classification, pursuant to customer contract needs. In those situations, where it is determined that the General Labor classification is not needed, the above work will continue to be performed by the Mechanic classification. This role will be a part of the Transportation Workers Union (TWU) and covered under a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).

Comply with WFS site security procedures for assigned warehouse and other operations. Remain cognizant of WFS staff, security contractors, and visitors’ activities and report security breaches, suspicious occurrences, or non-compliance with the site security plan to managers or via the WFS whistleblower program.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends (i.e. Friday, Saturday and Sunday), holidays, and days off.
• Ability to read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language.
