SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Range Manager, the Range & Scenario Village Support Specialist is responsible for providing excellent customer service to all customers.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs customer service functions including greeting clients, providing information, answering phones, etc.
• Inventory and ensures that adequate range stock levels and Simulated Scenario Village equipment inventories are maintained
• Monitors range and Village use, including securing lane and building reservations over the phone and via online scheduling
• Enforces safety and security, per established protocols
• Maintains cleanliness of the range and Village lobby, classroom, and restrooms. Organizes the classroom after each use
• Ensure that all items in the range and Simulated Scenario Village are secured, especially in unattended areas
• Carries out minor maintenance, including oiling bullet traps and waxing stall dividers, as required
• Operate the Virtra Shooting Simulator
• Sign-in clients, students, etc., at the Simulated Scenario Village
• During Scenarios act as the Safety officer in the Simulated Scenario Village
• Performs other related duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING

• High School Diploma or GED
• Articulatable firearms safety and experience
• Ability to obtain CPR/AED and Critical injury certification within 90 days of hire

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES

• Advanced communication (verbal, written, and interpersonal) and organizational skills
• Proficiency in the operation of the Virtra Simulator and related equipment. Training will be received within 90 days of hire.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (or equivalent)
• Possess sensitivity to respond appropriately to the needs of a diverse population

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING

• Associate degree
• Current Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission (OPOTC) or National Rifle Association (NRA) weapons instructor or range safety officer
• Current OPOTC Firearms instructor certification or 20 Hour Firearms Certification

• The work is performed in a normal, professional office or technical lab environment;
• The work area is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated;

However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, files, pamphlets, books, etc.;
• Work may also require walking and standing in conjunction with travel to and attendance at meetings and conferences away from the worksite
