This position will engage residents, in groups and one-on-one, in fun, stimulating and meaningful recreation activities. Must be comfortable leading a group as well as working one to one. We offer a variety of activities ranging from trips off campus to gardening, painting, music and dancing! We take the time to talk with, and listen to, those we care for and do whatever it takes to get the job done. Our goal is to create moments of joy as often as possible. Listening to understand, demonstrating kindness, concern and tender loving care are part of our core practices. Everyone is held accountable to these standards.
The community includes 84 units, a combination of one bedroom and studio apartments. 20 units are Memory Care and the rest are traditional Assisted Living. We have a bistro, a salon/spa, a fitness center and a rooftop terrace!

We are looking for a part-time Recreation Assistant to work the following:
Schedule: 32 hours per week, including every other weekend: 8am to 4pm and hours may vary.
Hourly Rate: $14.00
Job Responsibilities:
- Comfortable working with geriatric and Alzheimer’s/Dementia population experience preferred
- Strong creative and socialization skills.
- Six months of recreation experience a plus (art, therapy, music dance and reading).
- Motivated, flexible, creative and responsible personality and willing to organize, coordinate and engage in enjoyable activities for our Assisted Living and Memory Care residents.
- Responsible for providing administrative support to Programming Director and other team members.
- Maintaining recreational equipment (tables, instruments and electronics) and keeping areas clean when assisting resident with daily interchanging programs.
- Plan, set up and lead activities for residents (sports, games, events and off-site trips).
- Direct and supervise of residents in their assigned area and scheduling daily activities appropriately.
- Provide a safe environment and follow all policies and regulations of Chatham Place.
- May perform other duties as needed and/or assigned.
