Position Overview: The Regional Safety Coordinator will oversee and coordinate the planning, organizing, training, and leadership necessary to achieve the program objectives to reduce unsafe driving behavior.

Job Duties

  • Understand completely the functionality of the Lytx Drivecam Camera and how it works.
  • Experience with Omnitracks preferred.
  • Understand completely the Lytx Drivecam online platforms and how to run reports, identify driving and coaching trends, coaching events, obtaining resources and any other functions the role may require achieving program objectives.
  • Ensure all cameras are working properly and coordinate any repairs as necessary.
  • Achieve company objectives to reduce unsafe driving behavior through training of driver managers as well as drivers while creating a positive learning and working environment.
  • Prepare all required reports and information in an organized and timely manner.
  • Continually strive to develop a Lytx Drivecam program that is efficient, organized, and effective.
  • Ensure all events are being coached in a timely manner in accordance with program objectives.
  • Actively be involved in the coaching process as needed.
  • Work closely with Operations to ensure program success.
  • Coordinate efforts with Manager(s) to aid in training, conducting driver observations, accident investigations to determine root causes, and routine safety inspections.
  • Makes recommendations for corrective action where required.
  • Make recommendations to Driver Supervisors, Department Managers and Senior Management regarding changes that may impact Fleet Safety and Operations.
  • Evaluate and grade drivers throughout phases of training, in accordance with established Driver Training Program guidelines, document for employee personnel files.
  • Increase the level of driver proficiency through training and effective communication.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

  • Experience in Transportation field or as a Driver Trainer or equivalent combination.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current state and federal regulations relating to the trucking industry preferred
  • Clean driving record.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
  • Ability to train on policies, procedures and practices; have knowledge of effective training concepts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Strong work ethic with a professional, positive attitude.
  • Have creative problem-solving skills and ability to evaluate multiple solutions to make sound decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience Lytx DriveCam or related systems preferred.
