Remote Opportunity with Otak!

Otak is hiring a remote Project Engineer to support our trails transportation projects in Colorado. This is a limited duration 6-month project position that provides an excellent opportunity to work with a team of highly skilled professionals and a wide range of design projects. Our client base includes not only our own front range communities but also many destination communities in the Mountain West and the National Park Service. In this role, you will exercise your design talents on a wide variety of infrastructure projects ranging from municipal roadways to soft and hard-surface trails to unique underpasses and bridges to site/civil and utility projects for various municipal, state, federal and private clients.

Responsibilities of Remote Project Engineer:

• Serve as a subject matter expert for active transportation and trails related topics and provide general technical assistance and support to internal and external stakeholders.
• Manage tasks and teams associated with transportation projects.
• Perform design services related to roadway, trails, site layout, grading, drainage, utilities, and erosion control in conformance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Prepare construction plans using AutoCAD/Civil 3D and/or OpenRoads/Microstation anpd repare specifications and cost estimates.
• Plan and coordinate projects with limited supervision, assist in assigning duties and schedules to team members, and provide construction support services.
• Participate in preparing proposals and project scope, schedule, and budget.
• Participate in business development based on strong client relationships

Requirements of Remote Project Engineer:

• Minimum of seven (7) years of experience as a Civil Engineer, with an emphasis on transportation, public infrastructure, trails, drainage, utilities, site development, and civic projects for municipal and private clients.
• Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university or equivalent education is required.
• Must be currently enrolled as an Engineer Intern (EI) and/or have your Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to acquire.
• Demonstrated experience with AutoCAD/Civil 3D and/or OpenRoads/Microstation.
• Knowledge of local and state regulations and codes, including AASHTO, CDOT, NACTO, and MUTCD design guidelines.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a creative, professional, team environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• COVID-19 vaccination is required or an approved exception.

Salary Range: $45-$60 per hour
